Have had many alignments over 3 months. Finally got it to where only the right rear is wearing on the outside irregularly. This is an 06 Nissan Frontier w/24500 miles. I got the ‘actual’ specs from my last alignment. My RLeft toe is -0.07. My RRight is 0.18. Question is, if I take this for another alignment, if they just adjust the Rear right toe will it affect the front tires?? The fronts are not wearing unevenly. Might have something in the suspension bent. Perhaps I should just keep replacing the back right tire. Thanks.
I wouldn’t think that there’s even a toe adjustment for the rear of this rig. I have to think that something is bent, specifically the rear axle housing.
If there is an adjustment, it won’t effect the front.
You need advice from someone who actually looks at the truck. As Mr. Josh said, there is likely something bent.
The toe values are probably in degrees, and even if they are in inches, the RR toe is either marginal or too different. BTW what is the toe supposed to be?
Will it affect the fronts? Yes, this toe imbalance will tend to make the truck “crab walk” and that will cause long term fromt tire irregular wear. It will take many miles to show up, depending what the “spec” is.
Assuming that this vehicle has a solid rear axle, I am wondering why anyone would measure the rear toe.
You would measure the rear toe to see if the axle was square to the chassis or if the rear was bent.
This one is either bent or needs to be adjusted.
