I have a 97 Chevy truck, 2500 series with a 350 vortec. It’s got 133k miles on it and I haven’t had any major problems with it until now. The other night I noticed my check gauges light was on and looked at my oil pressure and it was at zero. Then it came back up and the light went off. It jumped around and whenever it went to zero the light went off.
Is there a problem with the oil pump or just the gauge. I check the oil regularly and do not drive the truck much during the week since I drive a company vehicle. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
You’ll Need To Temporarily Install A Mechanical Gauge In The Hole Now Occupied By Oil Pressure Sensor Switch And Verify The Pressure. Might As Well Screw In A New Sensor After The Test.
