Odometer Problem

Hi:

I just noticed this afteroon that the odometer on my 2001 dodge van in frozen/stopped at below zero. Everything else on my dashboard works fine. Can someone please help me solve this problem? I would like to know whether or not I am within speed limit on high ways and other busy streets.

The odometer registers miles driven, the speedometer tells you how fast you’re going. It sounds like you’re talking about the speedometer.

Check the fuse for the speedometer. Then check the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS), which is mounted on the transmission.

If the VSS is faulty it will prevent the speedometer from working.
