Noise when turning steering wheel

My 2000 Olds Alero makes a cow like mooing noise…low, rubbing sound if you will when I turn sharply on corners or to park the car. This happens turning in either direction. It seems to happen more when its cold but it does happen frequently…any idea what it is, what to do about it?

Could be a CV joint on it’s way out or wheel bearings gone bad. Have this checked by your mechanic. This should be an easy change out for any shop.

Any possibility that the power steering is the source?

Low fluid?pump noise?,rack noise?
