My Mazda 2500 pickup’s speedometer has stopped working. Also the ABS light stays lit. Are these two things related? And how do I fix it ?
It is likely that the vehicle speed sensor has failed or the wiring has been damaged.
I didn’t mention that the truck is a 2000, and has 221,000 plus miles on it. Where do I find the sensor to check if it is bad/replace ?
It should be somewhere on the back end of the transmission. It has to read that final drive output.
If it’s not on th drivers side of the trans, look on top of the rear differential.
If I remember correctly 97 & newer were on the diff.
Yeah, that would work too. Either the output shaft of the trans or the input (pinion) of the rear would work.
