Hi,
My Nissan Versa 2009 car shakes back and forth, every now and then, when driving on the highway. The Check Engine Light also comes on.
The mechanic said that to fix this problem, he performed the following:
- Changed all the spark plugs.
- Total tuneup.
- Fuel System Cleaning.
- Changed 2 front struts.
- Changed the fuel pump.
- Changed the fuel sensor.
- Changed the MS flow sensor.
- Changed the oxygen sensor.
But, the problem still exists !
Now, he is telling me to change the Catalytic Converter System.
What might be the problem? Any ideas on what I should get fixed? Any help is appreciated !
Thank you !
Problem #1 is your mechanic. They are throwing parts at the problem instead of diagnosing it. Changing 2 front struts is a clue to this. Not to say an 09 Versa wouldn’t need struts but that is not a solution to the problem.
Find a well rated local independent shop. Expect a fee just to diagnose the problem.

+1 on everything said above…
Your mechanic is more of a shade tree parts changer then a real mechanic that knows how to diagnose issues…
1st thing you need to do is find a proper technician that knows how to trouble shoot…
A diag would have cost $100-200, what have you spent so far not fixing the problem??
