My 1998 Nissan Altima recently failed inspection. I got two code P0110 and P0140. What do these codes mean? A list of certified mechanics was provided on the inspection report. Should I be taking my car for repair only to those certified mechanics? Any ideas on how to proceed. Thanks for the help!
Google “OBD 2 codes” and expand your knowledge…
P0110 - Intake Air Temperature Circuit Malfunction
P0140 - O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
You have the circuits for two sensors that are giving you trouble. They need to be tested by a competent mechanic you trust. The list of ‘certified’ mechanics is a ‘suggestion’ for you if you don’t have a regular mechanic, but I doubt any state in the union requires you to use a mechanic from this list. But, you will need these issues corrected before the light can be reset and you can pass emissions.
