Newer with miles or older without

I am looking at 2 cars of the same make doge neons one is 2005 with 150k miles one is 2002 with 90k. If the price is similar witch is the better bet?

What’s the repair/maintenance record for those vehicles?? That would be a determining factor.

What does the engine look like under the hood? If it looks like somebody poured oil and antifreeze all the engine, I pass it up. Do they drive ok? Warm engine, can you find any leaks, engine compartment, under the vehicle. Warm engine at idle, remove oil fill cap, is it puffing out smoke like crazy? I don’t like to but anything with over 100K on it,but, I’m an old man now, times change. I agree with the other person about maintenance, very inportant.

Pick the one that has had proper maintenance. Neither miles or time are as important as maintenance.

Just speaking for myself. If both vehicles are in the same shape. I go with less miles. Everybody else can do what they want. Do you have a mechanic friend that can look at both?

Flip a coin. Really, if that is all you have to go on.

LOL, I agree, if all else fails, flip a coin.lol
