Why Do Some Tires Have Tread on the Sidewall?

Yep dad and I went to the dare devils show and that’s how they drove. I really didn’t like what they did to brand new 61 fords though.

Easy, for off road driving… Anybody that has been out in the mud, loose dirt, rocks, sand you need all the tire you can have for grip… A lot of times it is that tread on the edge/side of the tire is what grabs the terrain and gets you out of ruts and other messed up terrain… And you need ticker sidewalls so rocks and tree parts don’t puncture your sidewalls… Yes tree parts is a scientific term in the redneck world.

Super popular in south Florida for Bro-Dozers and Jeepers. Mud and sand is the definition of off roading here. And the posers who never go off road like them, too, 'cause they have “the look”!
