The transmission on my '02 Ford Explorer runs smooth as silk. It appears to be fine however I get strange noises from it on occasion.
When I’m accelerating to get on the high way (and only at that time - never happens during city driving accelerating) and the transmission is shifting into 2nd or 3rd I hear a noise that sounds almost like static just before it shifts into gear. As I mentioned, this appears to be the only sign of anything wrong.
Anyone have any idea what that could be / mean ???
