Must I shield spare key to hide it in 2008 Expedition?

Have you tried having your keys on one of those belt loop clips they sell? I know Lowes sells them, called spring clamps, for like $2

Where do you live?!
Yes, that is a good place. I haven’t found any that come off easily enough.
The rubber cup holder liner is easy access and I doubt anyone would find it there.
But could it be too close and be detected?

You don’t need to shield the spare key. Just find a hiding place and remember where it is hidden.

You are correct! Thank you.

When I press the LOCK button, the doors WILLock if the chip is againsthe ignition, or the key touching the ignition.
The doors will automatically UNLOCK if the key is slightly to fully inserted into the ignition.

Unfortunate because when thengine is hot after an emergency run to a hospital, I’d like to keep thengine running to help evenly cool it while I run into and out of the hospital to transport to another hospital.

But I can and do lock the vehicle while driving!

You can leave the key in and on (with the engine running). Get out of the truck and close the door. Now press the last two buttons on the keypad at the same time. The door will lock and stay locked (until you enter your code, use a remote, or use another key).

Great!
I was not going to try this until driving the vehicle somewhere.
Thanks, Tard.
(Key is too long to fit in the cup holder.)
I may drill a hole in the cup holder well to insert the key down into the
empty space. Then the black end will fit next to the rubber liner.
