Hello I have a question about a misfire. When the vehicle is at highway speed the engine will give a jerking feeling when the throttle is closed but will return to normal when it is opened. I changed the spark plug wires spark plugs and the cap looks good. I was wondering what could be causing the missfire? I have a 1991 nissan maxima

I’m not sure a misfire is your problem. If the engine misfired after the throttle was closed you wouldn’t feel it. Misfires happen while the engine is running normally. You’re cruising along and the engine “skips a beat.” That’s a misfire.

Does the Check Engine Light come on when you feel the jerking.
