I have a 2002 Mercedes Benz the car starts and runs for 30 seconds then shut off. Any ideas

Could be a lot of things.Any maintenance done recently?

Absent any more information, sounds like it could be a fuel problem

I’m wondering if the drive authorization system is incorrectly seeing an “unauthorized start” and is therefore sending a signal to cut off the fuel

Do you have another key to try?

Have your shop check for stored diagnostic codes. If none found, test for spark first. If spark’s ok, probably a fuel system problem; a fuel pressure test would be next.

Yes we put a complete harness out of running car in it.we bought a wrecked Mercedes and bought a running one tor parts car. So we switched all harnesses and boxes so the car would run. The parts car ran perfect, we got it all swift had and the car will start and run but 30 seconds after it starts it quits. Put a new fuel pump in. We can spray ether in it and it stays running.

Can you please explain the car’s history, as you know it?

How long have you owned it?

What do you mean by "complete harness?

Engine bay harness, body harness, what is it?

And why did you replace it?

Fire damage?

Or because the engine wouldn’t stay running?

Since you owned the car, has it ever stayed running more than 30 seconds?
