Car shuts off when driving
Check engine light (CEL) on?? Have you checked for any pending codes??
Does it stall when stopped or only while driving at the posted speed limit??
Will it start right back or do you have to wait for a cool down period??
We need way more info… Probably need to find a good Euro repair shop to diagnose the vehicle…
Possible crank sensor, cam sensor, fuel pump, fuel pump relay, computer issue, electrical issue, and many many many more possibility’s…
Try driving your car with just a single key in the ignition switch, rather than w/keys on a keychain. Sometimes dangling keys will turn off the ignition switch when going over a bump or around a corner. If the single key idea helps, the car’s ignition switch is probably worn out and needs replacing. As mentioned by the post above, there’s plenty of other possibilities for this as well. Best of luck.
Very, very little information. There could be hundreds of reasons why this happens. The repair will cost thousands of dollars because it is a Mercedes Benz. Add more information so we can help or take a suitcase full of money to a well-rated repair shop.
When one of my customers made that statement, the first suspect was a bad crankshaft position sensor.

Tester
- Trade the 20+ year old car in on something newer, preferably non-European.
- Get out your wallet and prepare to unload it.
Best of luck.
