How do I loosen the belt on my Mazda B2300pickup to replace the altenator?
There should be two bolts holding the alternator to the bracket. Ine will be a long sholder bolt on which the alternator swivels, the other a secureing bolt to keep th ebelt adjustment in place. Bothe need to beloosened, the alternator swung down, and the belt removed from around the pulley. After replacing eth alternator and adjusting the new belt (I assume you’re changing the belt too) both will need to be retightened.
