Here’s 3 easy things I do that my cars seem to really like, and repay my efforts by behaving themselves on the road.
- Change the engine oil and filter
- Wash the windows, inside & out
- Inflate all the tires to the correct pressure

Regular air filter maintenance is appropriate too. Inspect the engine air filter and cabin air filter when changing the engine oil. When I was still doing this work I found that I could go 3 oil changes before changing the air filters.
Yeah and belt, battery, coolant, etc. I also swapped the alternator out. Oh and don’t forget the crank sensor after some age and miles. Interesting that I bought a new crank sensor but the book said it had to be synced to the pcm using a tech 2. So I waited until some other work and had the shop put it in. They tried three different devices to sync it, same equipment the dealer has, but it wouldn’t allow them access. Works fine anyway but maybe I’ve got a computer glitch?
That sounds more like some sort of software version incompatibility more than a computer glitch. Or just operator error, techs don’t know the procedure for syncing a crank position sensor.
