well, obviously yes. don’t be such a debbie downer.
i was picturing a guy walking up to me in a crowd and introducing himself with “Hi I’m from Sweden, our mechanics suck”

not sure how the dash on your Kia is, but I almost expect this to be troublesome to find and fix properly. Folks just don’t take their dash apart to remove a bulb for something that is easily fixed.
Hopefully it is easy to find, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it wasn’t, and you find out why the bulb was puled, and why they got rid of the car in the first place.
Try disconnecting the battery overnight. This should erase all learned parameters. Now the engine will have to relearn the parameters again, but this time with the new MAF sensor. Worked for me.
That’s the last thing you want to to do.
You could end with up even bigger problems.

One other thought. My Miata threw an O2 sensor code, and just because replacing them is a fussy job I checked the cable from the sensor to the wiring harness, and found a place where the cable was being worn rubbing against a sharp seam in the firewall. I moved the cable, wrapped it with electrical tape and secured it so it wouldn’t do that again, and then reset the system and so far so good.
