Long Cranking

Have a 2002 Chrysler 300m with a 3.5 v6eng. Problem is It takes 5 to 10 secs to start my car in the morning, It doesn"t start like should,It doesn’t show up on the computer .I think they call this long cranking. Had plugs put in at 50,000 miles because of a bad plug, coil is fine and fuel pump is also. Once car starts it smells like gas fumes in the air.At loss as to what the problem is. I don’t want to do a lot of lets try this and try that, as this could cost me a lot of money.I have talked to the mechanic and there not sure, along with a dealership. They see dollar signs.Would appreicate any help you could give me.

Has the fuel pressure been tested? Does it run normally once it is started? Do you push the gas pedal to the floor before you turn the key?

The next time you start the car, turn the key to the on position for ten seconds, then turn it to the start position to start it. Does it start right away if you do that?
