Lic Plate mounting nuts and bolts (that embedded in the plastic bumper)

If you do not want to make holes in your bumper, they make license plate brackets like this. they are generally made for cars that are put in car shows so you can remove the plate during the show. but you can also use on vehicles that you don’t want to make holes in the front bumper.

STO N SHO – stonsho

In TN front plates are not required, you only get one plate at a time, however on 1 ton and up vehicles, can may only run a front plate, no rear plate required if using a front plate…

Not all vehicles stay in the same state they were originally bought in. Any vehicle sold without the holes will have an optional bracket for that vehicle. And in many states that require a front license plate the bracket MUST be applied before sale of car.

This is what I did:

  • for the loose screw, HomeDepot told that its a Lag Screw of 1/4". So went with a size up 5/16", which fixed the issue.
  • the broken piece used JB Weld to glue it - the challenge was the broken piece will not go into the hole it came from! Perhaps due to the curvature. I put the JB weld all round. After it dried, I screwed it back.
    All is good now
