On my 2001 Buick Regal, the LED Light went
out just above my steering column. I can no longer read the milage on my vehicle. I
checked 2 maintenance shops and they both
quoted me $400.00-$450.00 just to replace
the light. What else can I do to read my milage? I really do not want to incur the expense of replacing it.
I am a little confused as to what is out. What I can add is a S-10 came in with the trip odometer inop. I checked and no fuses blown but one was missing 'cruise control". I though OK truck doesn’t have cruise. Long story short the truck needed this fuse for the trip odo to appear. Perhaps you check fuses,even those that don’t look like they could apply.
Your 2001 Buick Regal has an LED light on the dashboard? Can you see it during the day? Are you really talking about the LCD display on the odometer?
Sounds like the odometer DISPLAY panel has failed. And they want $450 to replace the entire instrument cluster…The odometer is probably fine. There is just a bad connection somewhere. Few mechanics relish taking dashboards apart…
This is a repair that can be deferred…
