When going over bumps and rough rides at speeds above 25mph I hear a clunking noise. The video on the link was taken from outside the vehicle. If I’m sitting inside I only hear a noise when I have the windows open.
Maybe leaf springs? I went into the truck bed and jumped around and couldn’t hear a noise. Truck is a 2022 frontier with 12,000 miles on it.
The good things is that a solid axle with leaf springs is the simplest situation, not that many places for noise to be coming from. Does it make noise if you push down hard on the rear bumper?
A proper diagnosis will require a shop inspection. If you are asking for an internet guess, if not something that has worked loose like the jack, spare tire, tailgate, broken exhaust hanger, etc, I’d focus on a worn or broken bushing for one of the two flimsy looking vertical oriented parts in Tester’s diagram above, colored green.
My truck has this same symptom, broken exhaust hanger.
I think George is on to something, I was just thinking the spare tire might be loose or the tailgate only on the safety (1st) latch and not closed all the way…
