Last week, i had the front wheel bearings replaced on a 2002 Dodge Dakota with 153,000 miles on it. This completely solved the humming noise the truck was making and it seems to be driving very smooth… but now a new noise has reared its noisy head… if i am making a hard left turn as into a driveway or parking place, the truck will make a loud repetitive metalic knocking noise it happens in reverse as well as in forward, and seems to happen more if going up a driveway or incline. it does not seem to happen going straight or turning right…do you have any idea what this noise might be? Any suggestions would again be very appreciated. many thanks again, LOVE THE SHOW !!

nope, 2wd
You might want to pull the differential cover off and see if anything is going on in there.
