Kia Rio Needs a new clutch - do I sell or fix?

Let me put it this way. Other than my 2004 Corolla, which is the only car I purchased new in my life, I have never paid more than $3k for any vehicle. I realize the market is grossly inflated right now, but there are still plenty of decent used cars available, with less than 150,000 miles, for $3k or less.

Of course, these are all private party cash deals, which does not help someone who needs to put little or nothing down, and make monthly payments. Someone in that situation will have to go to a dealer and pay high interest on top of a grossly inflated purchase price.

If you consider 4-5% (for a used car) or 2-3 1/2% (for a new car) you’re even cheaper than we all thought. Current interest rates are almost “free money”.

We’ve gone round and round about this before, but I’ll say it again. Not in most areas of the country right now.
