It Puzzled Even German Engineers

I have a 2001 A4 Avant Wagon. I’m a sucker who takes it to the dealer for everything because I don’t want to give it up. Last year, my engine light came on, so I took it to them. They always got the same code. They replaced the camshaft and crankshaft sensor, replaced the computer, replaced the wire. I still get the light. It comes and goes. The last time I took it they contacted Germany and Germany was stumped. They suggested to drop the oil plan to see if there was a sludge builtup. $800+ more. I said no. When I got it back the light was not on. A few weeks later, it came back on. A few days later it came off. I have been trying to contact you guys on the air and no luck. I really love my little wagon, and I have taken good care of it. Can you guys beat German Audi engineers?

I don’t have a radio show, but I would suggest that you locate an independent foreign car mechanic in your area. He will be FAR cheaper and is likely to have as much expertise as the guys at the dealership.
