Issue starting

I think its a 2008 or something civic now its with gas no matter if its empty or half ful when they decide to put gas in it they always have a problem starting it what could it be should i puy a scanner to it this person wants to start fixing their own vehicles i said me to maybe we can fix it together any advice on what i should do

Yes, you should.
From afar, my first suspect would be that the solenoid controlling the purge valve is bad, and that should set a code–but it should also turn the CEL on.
Is the CEL lit up?

Not sure i haven’t looked at it yet we were out and he mentioned it to me i told him when he has a chance bringing it over i have a scanner we’ll check it out

Are you sure you two are capable of doing this work?

You can get the codes read for free at local auto parts stores. Keep in mind, the parts store workers are not mechanics, they are sale people.

Have the car scanned for codes at your local AutoZone and post them here in the form P01234 so we know what the actual codes are.

Answer our questions about the car… Make, model, year, engine and mileage ALL, of this matters. Once you post the codes and exactly what the car is doing that you think is wrong and we’ll try and help.

I would also suggest you try to use punctuation and capitals as appropriate in your posts as it makes understanding your posts much more reliable.
