My wife’s '07 volvo C70, has done this twice in the last 5 days. She is driving along and a HORRIBLE screeching, metal on metal happens. It only happens when moving. It stops when the car engine is on but standing still, and then it goes away.
The first time it faded away as she was going on a jug-handle to get on the freeway. And the second time it went away after she made a U-turn on the street.
We are going into the dealer tomorrow(they had it on Tues and said it was fine), I want to tell them to look at the wheel bearings and the steering components… Any other ideas what this can be??
Could it be something with the belts or alternator?
