I have in Interlock Device on my VW CC 2012 (157,000 miles). There has been a whining sound coming from under the hood when I accelerate for about a month. The thing is, mechanics can’t find anything significantly wrong with the transmission or the engine, except one code that reads electrical malfunction. Is it theoretically possible that an interlock device can cause whining because it’s hooked into the electrical system?
No, not likely.
Is this something you installed or a remote device for the loan company to disable the vehicle . If it was your install have it removed and then you will know if it is the problem.
This is your third post about this problem vehicle . In March you said you were going to trade it or junk it . I think the time to do either one is here.
