Intake manifold vacuum port. To tape or not to tape

When putting the vacuum port on the intake should I use Teflon tape to help make a good seal? My gut feeling says no because I wouldn’t want any Teflon tape fragments to get in the intake…

I prefer a thread sealant.

I agree with Tester that you should use a thread sealant (Permatex is excellent).

Make mine another vote for Tester’s suggestion.
Although I seriously doubt of a little thread of PTFE would survive the combustion chamber. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I doubt anything is needed, other than just removing any debris from the threads and tightening to the spec in foot-pounds.
