I have a 1998 Toyota Camry. A week ago the instrument panel lights and parking lights would not go off after I turned the car off. At first this only happened once or twice but within days it was happening frequestly. In order to get the lights off, I had to turn them off and on frequently in order for the lights to finally go off. I have had the multi function switch replaced but after a few days the problem returned. Has any one have any ideas?
You probably have a relay that controls this. It is most likely a relay that is sticking on. I don’t have a shop manual for this car or a wiring diagram. That would be the next step to finding this relay and replacing it. The relay will be a lot cheaper than the multi-function switch. Do you have an alarm system? The offending relay may also be a part of it.
