Now that it’s getting warmer again, my car is difficult to start. If it sits in the sun at 50 degrees or when the weather is hot, I have to turn the key and wait for all the guages to register before trying to start the car. Sometimes it takes more than one turn of the key before the guages register. Usually it will start then. If I don’t wait and sometimes when I do, the engine cranks but will not turn over. I don’t want to go to the expense of getting the ignition switch replaced until I’m sure that’s the answer.
If you want to be sure it’s the ig switch (and it sure sounds that way to me) you need to check the voltages on the wires coming from the switch with a voltmeter, using a wiring diagram as a guide.
