I have a a 02 jetta 1.8 turbo the code po343 came up after new temp sensor,valve cover gasket and full tune up. is it an easy fix the car is mis firing an very hard starting. i have great fear of more damage. please and thanks KEITH

There’s a recall out for the coils on some 1.8T’s. Part of it goes into your model year, but I can’t say whether or not yours is covered. Have you checked into that? I’m curious, though…why was the valve cover gasket replaced? Was it leaking oil into the spark plug cavities?

FYI, this fault brought mine to a standstill, and had to be towed for repair. It ran…barely, and not much above idle.
