I’d suggest posting a picture of the fastener head so people can give more specific advice. Once you experience breaking off, or worse yet, shattering an EZ-Out, you look at them in a different light from that point forward. :grimacing:

Is there something in the bolt that keeps the torx bit from going down all the way? It’s hard to strip a torx bolt when the bit is pushed in properly and it is the right size.

I am not sure if extractor works for this top screw because it kinda curves up right near the screw. Don’t you have to put the extractor on the screw and push it all the way down? If you look at the picture, on the right side of the screw, it kinda curves up.

I’m not sure what they are called but there are several varieties of torx that look similar. I think you are using the wrong one. Tester would know. It’s come up before and the wrong torx will give a sloppy fit.

Unless the bolt is cross-threaded or otherwise jammed into the threaded hole it will be free to spin once the head is gone. Drill the head off the screw, there will be nothing holding the threaded shank to make it tight, it should screw out easily.
