How much should I sell my aftermarket wheels for?

In this situation I’d find a used tire and wheel shop and take what they offer.

I tried this. The shop offered $500.

Too low.

I am surprised the shop offered that much .

Head over to Tirerack.com. put in your Lexus’ year and model as requested. Shop for wheels. The wheels listed will fit and they will show you what the offset of these wheels are. They will vary a bit but +/- 5 mm from your wheels will still fit. 5 mm is less than 1/4 inch.

I stumbled across a thread on this site about changing brake pads and rotors. I can’t find the thread now and I don’t want to duplicate the topic. So I’ll comment here.

My car will be going in for brake service. The rear brake is 2mm and the front 5mm. Would it be wise to replace both front and rear at the same time instead of returning shortly after to do the front ?

It just makes things more convienient for you.

You’d be giving up 3 mm worth of front brake pad but your brakes would be completely renewed. 50/50 choice.

If someone came to me and asked to replace their brake pads on a regular passenger vehicle at 5mm, I would explain it is not needed yet and document everything so they couldn’t come back later and say I was trying to rip them off… lol
As said it is a convenance for you not a requirement…

The the front pads are a minimum of 5mm on the front then I suggest waiting. Brake pads can wear unevenly though. If the minimum measurement is nearer to2 mm, then replace both front sides. The shop will look at and measure the front pads when you have the rear pads replaced.

Seems a reasonable offer to me, but that’s just me, you can store them forever if you wish.

As far as the brakes, the fronts @5mm are good.
With current brake systems not unusual for rears to wear faster.

On my vehicle, front pads lasted about 5000 miles longer than rears. Change of driving conditions, flatland vs mountain, now pads are equal on all four corners. Down to slightly over 3mm, will do at next oil change in 5000 miles.

My opinion, don’t do the front brakes.
