Hi, I have volunteered to sell my dad’s 1995 Mercedes S420 Sedan. Unfortunately air conditioner is broken and just got new rotors so now it is running smoothly. It also has 92,000 miles on it and it is in very good condition overall. How much should he sell it for? Thanks!
A MB that old with that many miles and problems is not worth much. I’d put it on craigslist for $3,000 and take the best offer you can get. Or, donate to your favorite local charity and take the tax deduction.
List it as a parts car so there is no misunderstanding…
Has dad determined how much it would cost to fix it? If it is a 1995, it is actually an S430. In clean condition, the car is worth over $14,000. If he sells it as-is, he won’t more than a few thousand. If he can get $3000 as is as @twotone suggested, then there is up to $11,000 available for repairs to make it a $14,000 car. It’s worth getting repair estimates if he hasn’t already.

$14,000? No way, no how. I just looked at all the completed listings on Ebaymotors, and none were for over $5,000. Most were in the $2,000-$4,000 range, for running S420 and S500 models (not S430). So take what you can get for it as a parts car, maybe $1,000.
