Jack up the side of the car. Crawl under there (after supporting the car on jack-stands, not the lift jack) and remove the fill plug (3/8 drive extension) and stick your little finger in the hole. If you can’t dip any oil, fill it until you can. Check it once a month until you fix the leak. If it runs dry, your rear axle, the whole thing is toast… It starts sounding like a rock crusher…
