I’m replacing the brake drums and shoes on my 99 Honda Civic. In the process of extricating the driver’s side brake drum I damaged the wheel cylinder and self adjuster. I already got new parts and installed them. My question is: if I am able to remove the passenger’s side drum without damaging either the wheel cylinder or the self adjuster should I replace them anyway or can I still use the old parts?
Given the age of the car I’d replace the wheel cylinders. Then you won’t end up with a fluid leak a coupl of years down the line.
