Honda element 2003

tapping (percollating) sound coming from dashboard on long road trips. This only happens on longer trips, and happens at 60mph and above. This started a few months after I bought it new, but started at interstate speeds of 70 mph. Took it to dealership and was told “can’t help you because we can’t test drive over the speed limit” . This was an actual response. Well now it happens at 60mph. any ideas as to what is the cause/origen of this noise.

Does it happen with the heater or defroster on? Sometimes air in the cooling system will give these bubbling noises. I would check this out first.

no.It is intermittent, and goes away when I let off the gas and drive say 55mph or less.

I’m going to guess air in the heater core. Keep close tabs on your coolant level and on the dryness of your passenger floor.

okay. but maybe another fly in the soup, I try to pinpoint the sound, and it seems like its on driverside near gauges or in that general area. if it is theheater core would flushing system help
