High-pitched noise - 2008 Accord EX 6 cyl

At this point it’s kind of like “Take two aspirin and call the office tomorrow.” Everything’s probably OK, and you should try to just enjoy your ride for a bit. With the windows closed you can’t hear it. If it’s still present and still making you nuts after 10 days, go back to the mechanic you saw who checked it out, because it sounds like they did a decent and proper inspection and gave you good advice.

Is there a way to indicate this is resolved? It only made the noise for two days, and I’m not worried anymore at all. I’ve almost forgotten about it, in fact! Never figured out the cause…but there seems to be no need to, either.

You can mark it solved but in 10 years someone will open it up and ask if you found a solution. You might do what I do is set notifications to ( never ) that way you don’t get email everytime someone posts to your thread.

Edit: ElaineB , when looking at your thread you will see a small box with a checkmark in it. Click on that and it will show that post solved your problem.

I had a Toyota Sienna that had the same symptoms. On the freeway I’d hear humming but apply the brakes would make it go away. After taking apart the brakes I found that one slide pin was bent so the calipers wouldn’t reset correctly and one brake pad would get super hot on the freeway.

Check and lube the slide pins. I have no idea how a slide pin got bent.

Cool, thanks!

I was looking for how to mark it resolved. Do you have to go into edit? This thread is my only time on this forum, so I’m not used to it.

Look at the reply posts in your thread and on the same line as the likes button you should see a box with a checkmark in, click that and it should put Solved in the thread header.
