I just took my 2006 HHR in for service. They had to replace the Body Control Module and Shifter’s Brake Shift Interlock Solenoid. This is the second time I have needed this same repair. The first time was around 9,000 miles and this time I had 42,000 miles. They still repaired under warranty as a “goodwill” repair. I asked the service advisor if he had ever seen these parts fail. He said that he never saw the Body Control Module fail, but he has seen the Shift Interlock Solenoid fail. I was wondering if you guys knew anything about these problems and if the two failings are related. Did one fail because the other did?
