What computers did a 88 have? Does the part you are calling a computer have that distinct burnt electrical smell?
You’ve overloaded us with information about the symptoms of the problem…I was just about to recommend you replace the computer! Now, I suppose a qualified mechanic will have to troubleshoot it…instead of throwing another computer at it.
