Help Needed!

I am the new member here So, I have a question.
I am going to buy a car, I am confused, Here is my choice list:

  1. Allion 2005 (1.5)
  2. Premio 2006 (1.5)
  3. Mazda Axela 2009 (1.5)
  4. Mitshubishi Lancer 2009 (1.5)

I am from Bangladesh which is hot in weather. So please suggest me which one would be great for my first car and why? Thanks in advance.

Well, most of the regulars here are USA based so have almost no knowledge about those vehicles . The simple thing is they are all used cars so have them inspected by a mechanic and if the one you like passes and the price is acceptable then there you go.

The Lancer’s the only one I’ve heard of. The others may be sold here but under a different name.

For your first car you may not want to get anything too wild or unknown. Might I suggest that you take note of the more common vehicles in your area and ask your friends, co-workers, family and the like what they’ve had good luck with.

The cars that are sold in Bangladesh are–to a very great extent–not the same models that are sold in The USA. Mitusubishi Lancers are sold in The USA, and they are considered to be outdated and inferior to all of the models with which they compete. The Lancer might–or might not–be better than those other models–with which none of us in The USA are familiar.

When buying a used car that is more than one or two years old, the way that the car was maintained by its previous owner(s) is actually more important than exactly what make or model one buys. The cars that you are considering range from 9 to 13 years old, and ANY car that received little or no maintenance over that interval of time could easily be ready to self-destruct.

I don’t know how well this might apply to the used car market in Bangladesh, but if I was buying a used car in The USA, I wouldn’t even consider a car that was lacking printed records of its maintenance over the years.

The Lancer is the only one I can vouch for. Having lived in Malaysia for 5 years I’ve seen lots of them and they functioned well.

Mazda has a good reputation everywhere, so you are safe with them. I cannot endorse the others.

If they are in decent condition, the Allion and Premio are probably good bets. The Premio is an upscale version of the Allion and are sized between the Corolla and Camry, which are sold in the USA.

The Mazda Axela is sold in the USA as the Mazda3. This car is well thought of in the USA, and it would also be a good choice.

Any of those three are sold with those names in Japan, and I imagine they are not modified in any way for export to South Asia. Since the Axela is much newer, I would check further into it first. For any of these cars, condition is most important. Tops on the list should be the one maintained best by the owner.

They’re all used, and with all used cars the single most important thing is condition. You need to try to find a reputable shop to put each of the cars on a lift and give it a good going over.

Traffic and driving conditions are so much different between the USA and Bangladesh, no experience to offer an opinion. I’ve driven in Thailand, in your neighborhood anyway. The most popular cars I noticed there seem to be Toyota, Isuzu, and Honda. What I’d do in that situation, go to a nearby cross street where there’s a lot of traffic and take a survey. The one you see on the road the most must be the most popular for a reason. That’s the people’s choice. Take advantage of the wisdom of the crowd. According to the link below, the Toyota Corolla is the most popular car in Bangladesh. I can certainly vouch for that model for California driving conditions; I’ve been daily driving a Corolla since 1992. Don’t re-invent the wheel. Choose one of the already most popular cars in your area. That will save you a lot of grief.
