Headlights come on when car is turned off

I have a 2003 Ford Taurus. The headlights keep coming on when the car is off. This of course eventually drains the battery. I’ve taken it to the dealer and they are stumped. They performed a bunch of diagnostics, re-charged the battery, billed me $156 and returned the car to me.

Any suggstions would be appreciated.

Does your Taurus have the auto lights on “feature”?

Yours might be different, but the factory wiring diagrams for my 97 Explorer show that disabling this “feature” is as simple as removing a relay.

The headlights would still work in the manual mode.
