Brake lights won't turn off

I have a 2001 Ford Taurus and when I got out of my car tonite, after turning the lights off and the car off, my brake lights stayed on.I mess around with the brake pedal, turned the car off and on, turned the lights off and on, and still the brake lights stayed on. The only way they would go off was to loosen one of the cables on the battery.Does anyone have a clue what might cause this?

You probably need to replace the brake light switch. Its under your brake pedal and is apparently stuck on.
