I have a 2002 chevy suburban 1500 with a grinding noise ( metal sound ) from the left front . I have replaced the wheel bearing and the c/v axle is fine. It is louder around 20-40 mph then becomes quiter past that yet can still hear it . I already replace the first axle last year with this one (used ) do to bad differentials. Is it my luck of the draw that I had another bad axle. Any ideas to narrow the problem down before i take it to a garage .?
While it was all torn down did you check to make sure that the rotor’s dust shield isn’t bent out of shape & making contact with the rotor?
I will have to check those and go from there . Thanks for that info .
