My Son’s Girlfriend has a car that she is having problem with turning off. The car will be in park and have the ignition off and key removed and it continues to run. The other night we got a call and after the car had been parked and off for several hours my son noticed the lights on and found that the car was running and no body had been near the vehicle. My husband after tring several different things removed a fuse to make it quit running. What can be the cause of this ghost starting.
You didn’t state make, model, or year. Does this car have some sort of remote start feature, either a factory option or after-market?
It sounds like a remote start feature (Likely an after market)
When this happens, is it stopping and you walk away to find that it later has started on it’s own?
