I only use my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee on the weekends and the last couple of weeks when I start the my car I smell gas I think its coming from the vents. My gas gauge never changes. The rest of the day I don’t smell anything. The next morning the smell is back but not as powerful. About a month ago my engine light went on. I beleive that’s from a loss gas cap. maybe…so can you help, am I going to blow up?
Most newer cars will trip the SES light if the gas cap is missing or on incorrectly. As far as the gas smell in the car, if replacing the cap doesn’t solve this take it a repair shop.
