It is if you have full coverage. If you drop comprehensive and collision to save money, you have to hope the other driver was at fault and his insurance company will do right by you directly.

My insurance company did very well by me. Car was hit and totaled by an uninsured driver. I and my wife had some minor injuries, thank you seat belts.
My insurance paid me slightly more than what I paid for the car and, unbidden by me, $3500 pain and suffering for our minor injuries.
No, you just described fraudulent behavior and then recommended that behavior to someone else.
Itās as if you think not calling it āfraudā makes it okay, or that it is somehow ethical because two wrongs make a right.
HINT: If you cannot justify your behavior in less than 500 words, the behavior is probably not ethical.
