Ford Ranger 08 3.0L Squeak When Idling

Hey all,

Experiencing a loud squeak in my 08 Ranger, when idling and slowing down. Both in park and drive. Read all about synchronizer issues… could this be the culprit.

I’ve also read about issues with the tensioner/bearings.

How do I differentiate and pinpoint?

The first thing to try is remove the serpentine belt, start the engine, and listen if the squeak is still there.
