Ford Kuga Phev Fire Issues

Hello I would like to ask for the Ford kuga Phev has a fire issue sorted I have recently read about the article I am not sure if that is resolved or not. I am interested in 2021 St-line x. Any insight would be helpful.

This is an USA based forum so there is a good chance that the regular posters on here will have a clue other than using Google to search
I would think that checking in your area and or Forums about the vehicle would be your best bet

Maybe others will have a better answer

Yes this is a general forum to talk about the car nothing to do with the location. I am talking about the ford kuga Phev I think this variant is same

I have no idea what model that is. Maybe find out the US equivalent and let us know.

It’s a plug in hybrid St-line X 2021 model.

Ford Kuga 2.5.

As stated this is mostly a USofA forum. You were previously in South Korea and now you are in Germany ? I think there would be a Ford forum in Germany or talk to your insurance carrier to see if they even want to insure this KUGA. Frankly, if a vehicle has had problems catching on fire it goes on my list of vehicles to avoid even if they claim problem solved.

Doen’t anyone know how to do web search ? Since I have fresh coffee the Kuga appears to be a United Kingdom version of the ford escape. Also seems to be another recall in the works for battery fire problems .

Not all vehicles are sold in all markets, the one you are asking about is not sold in the USA, so sometimes location IS everything

There is some similarity between the Kuga and the US Escape. However, there could still be significant differences between the two models.

Here is the article I am referring

It’s about the ford kuga Phev variant

You read that article and that was not enough to convince you to look at something else ?

Although the chassis maybe the same, Euro etc models may not have the same drivetrains as the ones sold in the USA, and with different drivetrains comes different wiring harnesses, and with different wiring harnesses can come different wiring issues, possible the same with batter’s and other hybrid items
So just because we have Ford Escapes in the USA, does not necessarily mean an overseas model will have the same issues

Yup!
In the early '80s, Ford introduced the Escort, which they claimed would be a “world car”. But, by the time that the design and the engineering processes had taken place on both sides of the Atlantic, the UK version of the Escort turned out to be very different (and superior) to the US version of the Escort.

I strongly suspect that something similar took place with the European Kuga and the North American Escape.
