Why does my 2002 Ford E350 Van with a 7.3 diesel engine stall? The dash lights will flicker first and then the engine will stall. After I pull over for 1 minute it will re-start. Sometimes I can drive for 1 mile, sometimes for over 100 miles before it stalls. I have cleaned all battery cables and posts. Also, the CAM Position Sensor was replaced by Ford 1 year ago.
The flickering dash lights might be the key…They are telling you there is a bad electrical connection somewhere…Don’t neglect the ground connections. Your engine quits when the electric fuel supply pumps fails to provide fuel to the injection pump. An ignition switch that is falling apart can do this also…
